This is Dr. Damian Kristof (Chiropractor and Naturopath) star of the hit TV show DOWNSIZE ME. Damian and I recently presented at an event called “Dynamic Growth” and its theme was on PEAK PERFORMANACE. After the event, I loved Damian’s message so much as it is very similar to exactly what I have been teaching my clients for years, so I decided to ask him to share with you his thoughts on NATURAL FOODS and its health benefits.
( I am sorry about the sound quality – it is a bit noisy background, but the information was just too valuable to not to show you the video!)
Enjoy it and APPLY it to your life to ensure your family reaches their PEAK PERFORMANCE!

I am currently in Bali for a vacation to be with my family and to recharge my body. During this holiday I was lucky enough to be part of a Cataract Surgery in remote Bali village. I went to visit one of the charities that I support which is The John Fawcett Foundation, which provide sight to many poor Balinese who have gone blind due to the cataracts. This experience inspired me to do this video about RENEWAL, and the importance of having RENEWAL in our lives. The time we take to recharge may not be as drastic to our health as recovery of sight… but it is just as important to ensure that we have ample energy to be at our best !
I will be doing more videos in the future about my experience at The John Fawcett Foundation in Bali, but for now – you can visit www.balieye.org.
In July, we ran a BABY Competition to guess the BIRTHDATE, the sex and weight of my baby. We had hundreds of entries, and of all the entries online and at the office, we actually had TWO winners! Ms. Carlyn Henderson and Mr. Stewart Gillet are our two well deserved winners. They both guessed the right date – 5th August, 2008 (actually it was one of the winner’s birthday!), the correct sex – FEMALE, and both were just 100g off the correct weight of 3.4 KG or 7.5 lbs.
Above is a video of both Carlyn and Stewart accepting their prize and their reactions is a definite must see! I hope you enjoyed the photos of Kaia on the video, she has grown up so much! So the question is…. who do you think you looks like?
I also wanted to thank everyone for your gifts and emails of congratulations after the birth of Kaia. It was a great honour to be able to share such an amazing event from our lives with all of you. The video of Kaia was view over 1000 times as you guys loved it so much that many of you decided to share with your friends and family – it was viewed as far away as Canada, Scotland and the US!
As we begin the season of “Spring” in Australia, I notice some of the trees in my front garden begin to blossom with beautiful flowers. It is the season for new beginnings, the time of year to shed the slow and often gloomy winter season and transition into a roaring summer season ahead.
At this stage, our bodies also moves into the a state of change. We begin to shed our “winter” coats in our bodies. Do you ever notice that there are a lot of people having “colds or flu” again? Could it be that the lining of our lungs are preparing for the upcoming warmth in the summer ahead? Can it be that the body is intelligent enough to remove the dead cells of our lungs and start to form new cells to prepare for a different climate in the summer (dry and hot) as compared to the winter (wet and cold)? And that a “cold” is just symptoms of your body removing debris and cells that are not longer needed?
Spring signals a season of change, a season of preparation so that we can reap the rewards of the hard labour of the year past. As we head into the first part of SPRING, what are you preparing for this summer? What goals are you striving for? Is it to get more healthier? Have more WELLNESS in your life ? Be more flexible? Have more time off? Spend more time with family?
Whatever your goals or desires, you have time to prepare NOW to reap the rewards! What do you need to get rid of in your life, in your work, or in your to do list before you get achieve your desires or goals? What steps do you need to take to reach your dreams? Who do you need to talk to or consult with or be coached by to get to your desires?
As your health and wellness coach, I would be happy to offer any suggestions or guidance in your journey to achieve greater and more fulfilled life! All you have to do is just ask me how.

Hi everyone,
This month has been a busy one, as we prepare for the birth of my first child! So I decided to try a new format on the newsletter… so let me know what you think. Here is the link to this months SMART Wellness Tips – http://www.drlaurencetham.com/?page_id=79
The April newsletter is filled with great tips for your entire family. It includes great immune system suggestions and a fresh idea on reducing toxins in your house. Also do not forget to listen to audio at the bottom of the newsletter for my tip to have a great night sleep!
I have just spend 2 wonderful weeks travelling in New Zealand over the Easter Break. If you have never travelled to NZ – it is a very beautiful country (I am sure my kiwi clients will all agree!)
As my wife and I have been travelling in a car for the last 2 weeks moving from one hotel to another ( I think it was over 10!) , I remember many of my clients often ask: How do I stay healthy when I travel? So I thought it would be a good idea to share with you how we managed to maintain a healthy lifestyle during this trip.
We continue to use the S.M.A.R.T principles I discussed in recent posts, and here are some of the ways we kept to these priniples (so that we can enjoy our trip with energy rather than feeling sluggish from eating out all the time.)
S – SUPERFOODS: One tip when travelling is to purchase fresh fruits and vegatables from local markets before you head out on your road trips. When you have fresh fruits and vegatables, it is much easier to have these as snacks to munch on during those long drives! Another suggestions is having a mixture of raw nuts such as almond, brazil nuts, walnuts, golgi berries etc.
M – Movement: Moving is quite hard to maintain when you are travelling. One of my tips for movement is to PLAN out regular stops between your road trips. If you know you are going to drive for 3 hours – take 5 minutes to look at the map and plan out 1-2 stops in between your final destination. This way you can have a stretch of your entire body during your breaks. It does not have to be a long stop, just a change in position will help your spine from becoming a problem during your trip. Walking each day will also be a great way to keep you healthy through your trip!
A – Attitude: Holidays are meant to a break from your daily routines! A break from your status quo is a great way for your mind to relax and allow yourself to come up with many creative ideas. On your trip, make sure you do something different, see something different, maybe even try something different to eat, sleep, or travel! On this trip, I heli-hike a glacier for the first time in my life and I soar like a bird on a hand-glider in Queenstown. Both of these activities created an unforgettable experience – and is that not what life is all about? Creating experiences!
R.T. – Reduce Toxins: This can be hard when you are travelling with all those temptations of fudge, chocolates, delicious dinners and lunches! Well, as my wife is pregnant and I do not drink – removing alcohol is of course not a concern… so limiting the amount of creamy, high carbs foods, sugar, desserts, and chocolates during your trip is very important. This will allow you take the pressure off your digestion which is already strained from the lack of home cooked food you miss when you are travelling. Having some foods such as desserts are okay JUST not at every meal!
Hope these helpful tips help on your next travel! I look forward to seeing all of in the next few weeks!
