Kaia Rei Tham @ 6 wks old

Is it not amazing how quickly things change?  Here is a picture of Kaia at 6 weeks old.  Now go and watch the video again of Kaia’s birth which was taken at 1 day old (if you have not seen it, see blog post below on 6th August, 2008).   Is it not amazing how she has grown and changed?  Children are so amazing and we see the changes in them so rapidly, as it is happening in front of our eyes!

But as adults we often forget, that we are constantly changing every day, every hour, every minute and every second as well!  Little did you know, your cells in your body such as your heart cells, your blood cells, your liver cells, your skin cells, your immune cells, your muscles cells are all constantly changing right now as you read this.  The question is: is it growing or dying?  In life, there is no constant, there is always change – it is always either in a state of growth, or in the state of dis-ease.

Are you striving to ensure that you cells are working together for the state of growth, the state of health and well-being OR are they simply slowly or rapidly declining into a state of dis-ease, illness, sickness and eventual death?

We HAVE a CHOICE!  We have the power to decide.  We all have the potential for health, we are innately build for it – just look at KAIA – she is growing into this world without anyone or anything telling her how to do it except for the innate inborn intelligence within her.  All I have to do as a chiropractor and father is to ensure that  there is no interference in her that will block this potential – this is what we as chiropractors do – remove interferences and allow the body to be whole.

What is blocking your potential in life? at work? at school? in health?

    Winners of my BABY Competition

    Wednesday, September 17th, 2008

In July, we ran a BABY Competition to guess the BIRTHDATE, the sex and weight of my baby.  We had hundreds of entries, and of all the entries online and at the office, we actually had TWO winners!  Ms. Carlyn Henderson and Mr. Stewart Gillet are our two well deserved winners.  They both guessed the right date – 5th August, 2008 (actually it was one of the winner’s birthday!), the correct sex – FEMALE, and both were just 100g off the correct weight of 3.4 KG or 7.5 lbs.

Above is a video of both Carlyn and Stewart accepting their prize and their reactions is a definite must see! I hope you enjoyed the photos of Kaia on the video, she has grown up so much!   So the question is…. who do you think you looks like?

I also wanted to thank everyone for your gifts and emails of congratulations after the birth of Kaia.  It was a great honour to be able to share such an amazing event from our lives with all of you.  The video of Kaia was view over 1000 times as you guys loved it so much that many of you decided to share with your friends and family – it was viewed as far away as Canada, Scotland and the US!

    Spring is in the air!

    Monday, September 15th, 2008

As we begin the season of “Spring” in Australia, I notice some of the trees in my front garden begin to blossom with beautiful flowers. It is the season for new beginnings, the time of year to shed the slow and often gloomy winter season and transition into a roaring summer season ahead.

At this stage, our bodies also moves into the a state of change. We begin to shed our “winter” coats in our bodies. Do you ever notice that there are a lot of people having “colds or flu” again? Could it be that the lining of our lungs are preparing for the upcoming warmth in the summer ahead? Can it be that the body is intelligent enough to remove the dead cells of our lungs and start to form new cells to prepare for a different climate in the summer (dry and hot) as compared to the winter (wet and cold)? And that a “cold” is just symptoms of your body removing debris and cells that are not longer needed?

Spring signals a season of change, a season of preparation so that we can reap the rewards of the hard labour of the year past. As we head into the first part of SPRING, what are you preparing for this summer? What goals are you striving for? Is it to get more healthier? Have more WELLNESS in your life ? Be more flexible? Have more time off? Spend more time with family?

Whatever your goals or desires, you have time to prepare NOW to reap the rewards! What do you need to get rid of in your life, in your work, or in your to do list before you get achieve your desires or goals? What steps do you need to take to reach your dreams? Who do you need to talk to or consult with or be coached by to get to your desires?

As your health and wellness coach, I would be happy to offer any suggestions or guidance in your journey to achieve greater and more fulfilled life! All you have to do is just ask me how.

    Father’s Day

    Monday, September 8th, 2008

Today was Father’s Day in Australia, and being a new dad of just over 4 weeks – I must say I enjoy this day!  A day just dedicated to us fathers!  I will admit that until I became a father, this day I thought was just another day for all of us to celebrate something.  Another way to make us buy more stuff!  But looking back over my four weeks of being a father – I am glad there is a day just dedicated for all the hard work that we have done during pregnancy and birth… and Ladies, I know what most of you are already thinking – do not worry Mother’s Day is not that far away!  Of course I am just joking about the hard work that us fathers had to go through as compared to the mothers, but today got me thinking… having a day just to celebrate your success is a great way to rejuvenate and remember your accomplishments.  A day like today reminds us of what we have done, the sacrifices, the rewards, and also the lessons we learned to get to where we are.

So in terms of your health, do you celebrate your successes?  I suggest that you should have a day of celebration built into your calender.  Did you lose 5 kg this year, did you finish the City to Surf Race last weekend, are you eating less junk food, did you start drinking more water, are you feeling better this year than last, are you more flexible, more mobile, more energetic, are you getting more sleep … all of these calls for a celebration, a small recognition that you accomplished something, this will ensure that you congratulate yourself for a great job done, AND it will also reenforce your mind and body to continue with the new found success!  So go ahead – Plan your day and celebrate your victories, celebrate your wins!
